Retail Furniture Sales & Design Consultant
Position Summary:
The consultant is responsible for positively contributing to the customer shopping experience by providing friendly, knowledgeable and professional service as well as assisting customers in all aspects of their purchase. This position requires that you work closely with management. Your ability to communicate effectively and build relationships with store personnel is important. Most successful candidates should have some experience in design, commission sales or both. If you lack experience but have a flair for either, let’s talk. Either way, you’ll need to be on good terms with your computer and know how to operate e-mail and basic word processing and similar programs to succeed.
Store Hours and Work Days:
Monday through Friday 10:00AM until 6:00PM
Saturday 10:00AM until 5:30PM
Sunday Closed
Requirements:
Must have a positive “CAN DO” attitude
Previous retail and/or merchandising experience
Detailed-oriented
Reliable transportation
Must be 18 years or older
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends as necessary
Ability to interact with customers and associates in a professional, positive and courteous manner
Ability to interact positively with other associates to promote teamwork
Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds occasionally and 25 pounds regularly
Ability to stand and move about for extended periods of time with only brief periods of sitting
Ability to reach, bend, or stoop to move and handle products

Compensation:
Minimum wage + Commission!!
We pay some of the highest commissions in retail furniture.
Commissions are paid monthly.

Position Responsibilities:
- Seek out and engage customers in a friendly and professional manner and provide impartial, knowledgeable advice about all furniture product offerings. Move clients through the design process: envisioning, designing, and completing their room(s).
- Provide outstanding customer service by effectively engaging customers, identifying their needs, and offering the best solution to successfully close a sale. Our sales staff has access to the best furniture manufacturers. Hundreds of suppliers, thousands of styles, fabrics and leathers are available to you to help clients choose the perfect piece for their home
- Elicit information from customers to confidently sell in all areas of the sales floor. Client consulting in-store: convey product knowledge; walk through furniture selection, follow-up on sale.
- Seek and accept coaching and direction from the Store Leadership Team. Work with fabrics, Work with scale and form, Know different merchandisers & styles: contemporary vs. modern vs. traditional
- When not with customers, keep sales counter clean, file necessary paper work, arrange sales floor and follow up on existing customer orders.
- Perform register sales transactions quickly and accurately in accordance with established cash control procedures and customer service guidelines. Translate design plans into computer system and apply pricing. Financial skills in providing clients with pricing that accounts for custom options and current store offers.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
- Answer the phone promptly and courteously and direct calls to the appropriate party.
- Ensure that the store is clean and organized and all pricing signage is in order. Assist in cleaning and maintenance of the store as directed.
- Advise Manager on Duty of any issues, special customer requests, customer complaints, etc.
- Immediately respond and resolve any potential safety hazards, and report to Manager on Duty.
- Check in freight as directed.
- Implement new merchandise as directed.
